I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to this software, i'm looking for a version for OSX, I dont use my plotter that much any more and would like to plot.ai files without having to purchase more sign design software since i use Adobe Illustrator for all my designing needs. I bought a VinylExpress setup several years ago, and i just never used it for anything other than importing my .ai files. My plotter has a an old serial cable and my new computer only has USB, i know i can get a convertor so thats not that big of a deal, but i cant get another dongle(already contacted VinyleExpress) any help on this matter would be greatly apprecitated.
To link your new Mac to your plotter, I recommand you to use a Keyspan Twin Serial adapter (http://www.keyspan.com/products/homepage-Serial.spml)
This product will add 2 "old mac-way" serial port to your USB Mac.
Than you have to install the driver for this adapter. Or you install those driver in the Classic environment and if you are lucky, your old software will run and recognise the keyspan port and run.
Or you choose a "nicer" solution and as Rick say, you add a plug-in to Adobe Illustrator 10 or CS and drive your plotter directly from Adobe Illustrator in the true OS X environment. Will this work with a Vinyl Express Plotter? In my production manager the driver is set to GCC Signpal GRC-61.

As you said, a Vinyl Express Plotter is the same that a GCC Signpal GRC-61.
This brand is listed in the menu you will find behind the black arrow at the top right corner of the NCS MagiSign palette. Select it. A list of the models of this group of plotter appears at the top of the NCS MagiSign palette. Select yours. You are compatible with it.

About cable : you should link the cutter to your USB Mac through a USB Keyspan HS 19 adapter and the so-called "PC serial cable" you got in the box with the cutter.
Select the arrow in the menu at the top right corner of the palette. A menu appears.
DGI has changed of name (company and product) in the previous years. It is listed in the NCS MagiSign menu as "Dilli New Star Omega".
A list of the models of this group of plotter appears at the top of the NCS MagiSign palette. Select yours. You are compatible with it.
