For your reading pleasure. As usual, the LED propaganda about a viable LED replacement product for retrofitting standard fluorescent lamps is mostly hype.
Thanks go out to John Anderson for posting this link on the Neon-L.
As John pointed out, this is not directly related to neon, but certainly has some relevance. Now, if the DOE would only do some testing of quality made CCFL's vs. LED's, neon shops everywhere would have something relevant to present to former or potential customers.

I just recently used some LED's in a cabinet. The end result looked fine but they were used to light an unusual custom cabinet where lamps weren't practical. I suggested a neon grid to provide a quality long lasting product for the customer but that was declined by management of the company I was working with. The end result will be an unhappy customer as the LED's begin to deteriorate over the next couple of years but I guess who needs repeat customers or happy customer referrals that last for years.
