We presently pay $37.00 - $38.00 per 9/30 solid states ( France) or ( Allanson). Other sources I no use transfomers from asian companies??? Does anyone find it hard to compete on manufacturing of complete window signs? I can't belive the pricing I see on these web sites!! What do they pay their Benders? and for other employees. As a wholesaler I find it hard to compete in that area. Any ideas or opinions?

You'll never be able to compete with asian-made neon. Heck its probably made by a baby still in a crib for 25cents a day. Sell yourself on quality to your customers and you'll be working less for more money.
We Have been using the France 9000 FE1G and or the Allanson SS935ICH and SS1235ICH. NO core and coil style.
Hoping to get transformers that are quality with a warranty in $25.00 range if that is even possible.

I'm curious about what kind of neon signs you are selling where you actually want a quality transformer for 25 bucks. Are your customers that cheap? I'd show them the exit if cheap bastards like that came into my shop.
I agree with signguy. You buy cheap, you get cheap. Even a $25 power supply isn't going to help compete against a $24.95 flamingo at Walmart. If the bottom line is all your customer is looking at, don't waste your time. Show them the door, politely.
Your right and I have pointed out the EXIT SIGN!. They see neon signs on the net and think I can just whip out a custom sign for $100-$200.00. Then when they buy those E-Bay signs or signs from internet sites and they have problems. They are upset that the repair may cost 1/3 - 1/2 of what they paid at min charge!!
They ( customers ) think we are out to get them, when I need to replace a transformer and I charge them T and M. Simply mabe $100 + .They end up taking more of my time haggling me then its worth!! "EXIT" No matter how polite and proffesional we may be some are just so narrow minded. That when they leave they are dissapionted.
Oh and those signs that dip painted translucent to imitate classic colors that can't be repaired. Thats another one!!

Is there such a thing as a low cost transformer these days?
I have tried a couple of the Technolux transformers as of late. Havent had them come back or heard any complaints. They are around $50+/-. The big draw back is they dont have a pull chain.
