I bought a used Teledyne Hastings AC MilliTorr Vacuum Gauge model VH-3 it came with a DV-23 thermocouple I got it really cheap and it came mounted in a nice carrying case so I like it. The problem is that when I hook it to my pumping system I only get a ready of 40 torr or mm hg when I actually have between 0-1 torr or mm hg according to a different gauge. I'm not sure what to do about this any advice would be appreciated. Do I just need a new thermocouple or to turn an adjustment screw. Maybe I have the wrong thermocouple. I have never had a vacuum gauge problem except once when I fried it with the bombarder so I don't know much about them.
