I have a GEO4000 Colorlights with controller, manual, and cable, but no software. The manufacturer has changed hands to www.advantus.com.
They do apparently still have the software/cables somewhere, but i can't find them on the website, and they seem like a bunch of soulless drones anyway.
Anyhow, if ppl are interested, i'd scan in the manual in exchange for a copy of any hyperterminal/etc. script they write from it to control the sign. The key combinations are complex enough for bash programming, since absolutely every plausible combination seems to do something, but i'd rather have some alias scripts..much faster and better.
Anyone?

Hi,
I realize these posts are over a year old, however i have software for the geo4000. I have not been able to get it working as i don't have a manual or cable. If anyone wants a copy of the s/w i will be happy to send it. It would be helpful to me if i could see the manual and if any of you have the cable and could map the pin outs for me I can make my own.
Thanks,
Carmen
Carmen,
I too need the s/w for the geo4000, I would appreciate it very much if you could email me a copy. In return, if I get it to work, I'll be happy to send you (and anyone else who wants it) a complete step-by-step how to writeup.
RE. the cable pinout, I metered the DB-9 RS232 connector on the sign and it appears to need a "straight through", data leads only cable. That is, you need a 3-wire cable, with pin 2 on each end connected to one wire, pin 3 on each end connected to one wire, and pin 5 on each end connected to one wire. Of course, you need Female DB-9 connectors at each end of the cable.

Carmen, please let me know if you still have the software available.

I have a ColorLights Keypad model RC110
I need an instruction booklet. Is there any way to get one? I can't even seem to locate the manufacturer on line, but then, I'm really not very good at this on-line stuff.
