Hi Lite Moving Message 2k Sign (Marlboro) - Programming

I have the subject sign, which works, but I want to program it.

I have found the manual which describes the functioning of the Moving Message keyboard, and have even purchased the missing keyboard.

The problem is that the connector on the sign is a DIN-9 male connector, and the connector on the keyboard is a DIN-5 female connector.

I have tried using a DIN-9 to PS2 connect, along with a PS/2 to DIN 5 connector. No dice.

I have also tried putting a null modem cable in the path as well. Still does not work.

In PCs, the DIN-5 connector went away in 1987, so I date the sign to that time frame.

I have exhausted all combinations of Internet searches and can not find a thing.

Any help would be appreciated.
