Electronic Message Centers and LED gas price signs

Greetings and thanks for any help. Not sure where to post so posting here and general discussion. Been doing neon, fluorescent, LED channel letters, etc. for 20 years but my customers have not really done electronic message centers or LED gas price signs. We are now starting to get involved with them. Of course there are numerous manufacturers with their own type parts, etc. My question is with Everbrite, Daktronics, Blair, Centerline, etc., etc. as different manufacturers is there any "crash course" or manual we can give our Techs that will give the ability to work, and here’s the hard part, intelligently and competently on these different manufacturers units . Again, thanks for any help.

Different manufacturers may have different softwares, installation way of signs, etc. But, one thing is common---LED Display need connects to computer, wired or wireless. The basic comm way is RS232. Other common ones include RS485, Ethernet, RF, Radio Control, GSM. Wireless are widely used in America. Not very sure what exact those manufacturers are using, but to make the sign work, you have to choose the right comm way. Take our software as sample(of course, our software is quite simple compared to those big manufacturers), before download messages to the sign, just choose RS232, or RS485, or other comm way.The basic step is done. Other things may adjust baud rate(if necessary),adjust time, adjust sign size on software, edit messages and then download. The important step is probably to learn to use their software. You may contact their sales representive for a consultation.
