Here's the thing about good and fast........
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Wait a second.... I don't need to tell Walton Signage this. They are great reputable firm with a ton of experience. They likely already know this. At least I hope so....
They're not cheap, they don't cut corners, and they are top notch.
They'll get freelance work where "good" will be EXACTLY what they pay for. I sincerely doubt they need anything other than production art or working with the architects design intent. If they are out sourcing conceptual something is up bigger than the project.
I charge architects well over $100 per hour to make their intent into a functional set of construction/shop drawings. A SIMPLE architectural project is 8-12 hours....... A LARGE architectural project with multiple elements, locations, etc, is pricey. More than a company Walton’s size and caliber would want to pay. ( I mean this is a good way so don't even think of taking it another way)
This [design] is what we specialize in. We also provide no bullshit project management and or owners representation of the scope start to finish. Speaking of project management.... same thing applies here....They'll get PM work where "good" will be EXACTLY what they pay for. Both Design and PM are not solely dependent on one person….. It still takes a team to do it right. Same thing goes for sales. It takes a team. You loose some of this element out sourcing.
Quality, thoroughness, and fair is better advice than good and fast for the money.
Something about this ticks me off..........
Thank you all for letting me vent about it. No offense to anyone in particular.... I’m just generalizing.
Ralph,
I have over 33 years in the electric sign business including
permitting, sales, patterning and design.
I specialize in technical, artistic and
construction ready shop drawings.
Let me know if I can help you.
Good Morning,
I have been designing, engineering manufacturing and installing for the past 30+ years. In that time I have been Design Director and Engineering Supervisor doing production drawings and overseeing production specs in shop. I have spent over 25 years at a major company doing this and work in Coreldraw and Autocad. Please email what you have in mind.
Can people not read? The posting gives a contact name & number to call.
If you can't follow simple instructions to call someone, why would a company trust you with their work?
If this was a test, you all would have failed miserably.
Quite Simple! Assuming Ralph has a very busy schedule and in an attempt to not plague someone with phone calls I did the following. 1. I e-mailed a resume to the head of operations hoping that since Ralph didn't list an e-mail address it would get forwarded to him. 2. I placed a follow up call to Ralph a few days later and Ralph was rushing off to a meeting and said he didn't get it, so I got his e-mail address and sent another one to him with a link to my web site at http://wix.com/jlafond/portfolio That was the middle of last week and still nothing, nada...zip! No e-mail "thanks for your submission we will consider it, no call back"...nada. So yes we can read and call and e-mail and we are all probably pretty decent designers seriously looking for work so we can support our families. I hope this answers your question and "Thank you for your concern and comments".
I told you Ralph.
They need to be good and fast. .....The good means the ability to read.
Hahaaa.
That's why there are a lot of typos for designers, because they don't pay attention.
Have fun.
