i used lumificent l.e.d in a channel letter that was both front illuminated and halo lit. i applied white vinyl to the clear acrylic face to hide the 1/8" grove that i put in the back of the face to accept the 5 3/8" channel letter return. my question is to get the effect of a crisp bright letter was white vinyl the right choice?
i applied the vinyl to the face as second surface was not an option.
also i used clear 3/8" cast acrylic.
Can you fax me a side view sketch of all components and exact placement of LED's. Was the white vinyl translucent ( I assume it was )?? and was it 1st serfice or second serface application. Recieved your fax. (The first surface) White vinyl over the 3/8" clear plex face was that opaque white vinyl or translucent white vinyl? And what brand did you use? Have you applied white diffuser vinyl to the inside (second surface) of the 3/8" clear plex face? Also how thick is the widest stoke of your letters? When putting vinyl in a face lit and back lit more leds are needed because a big percentage of light escapes through the back.
