Hey 'Boots. I have all Dewalt drills, 18 volt on all the trucks, so all the batteries are interchangeable. For masonry, we use corded type drills, usually Bosch Bulldogs. This way, all the signhangers have something else to gripe about.
My thought is that most masonry takes lots and lots of holes, like for letter installations and such - and the cordless ones won't hold up to the heat.
I admit that there's been times I wish I had a cordless hammer drill just for doing a few small holes. Ce La Vie. Seems like no matter how many tools you've got, there's alway some unexpected situation.

i have all dewalt 18 volt impacts and drills but my favorite toy is an 18 volt cordless hammer drill it usually has to be ordered but i love it. installing wallscapes hanging from a rope you don't want alot of cords hanging down in your way it takes the sds bits
I have always bought and used Dewalt... untill recently. I was getting real tired of buying new replacement batteries for the dewalt. Seems they just don't last like they used to. So my new favorite is my 18v hammer Makita lithioum. This drill is lighter and has a better grip. Tons of power and recharges in 15min.Sweet!
