Ed,get some clear glass beads, apply to painted area when paint has has enough tack to hold beads without drowning beads.
This method makes any color background reflective.
One Shot paint works great.
Good Luck,Zeke

You can add glass beads to your paint and I sprinkle them on as top coat to increase the reflectivity. Make sure you do not set your customer's expectations as high as a 3M vinyl. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. It will be reflective but not as good as you think.
I have a customer that wants reflective white letters on a sandblasted sign, but does not want vinyl. Does anyone know where I could get reflective white paint?
Thanks!
I run the paint shop for a sign co. the best luck I have had is to drop fine glass beads on top of the "wet" paint and use air hose to remove unwanted beads around copy. this works with any paint and saves money also.
The glass works good, there are stop sign all over a small town by the house that prisoners painted and applied glass and they reflect well.
I have not used this method but sure would not hesitate to do it

Contact Joseph at Insignia because they use some sort of additive to their paints to make them reflective. I know, because I just had to ask him about this very subject. Here's his email:
