Push Through letters.

Hi guys, We normally do all of our push through letters on our router and leave a flange around the edge of them , We just recently bought a Water Jet and we have no way of leaving a flange so we have been using weld on to bond the letters to a piece of acrylic but once the letters are illuminated we can see the glue through the side of the letter. Any of you guys have a solution for this?
