I am relatively new to this printer. Iwould like to know if anyone has used eco-solvent inks from another source (other than roland). I've seen ads for compatable inks and I'm not sure about them. I would like to save some money, but not at the expense of ruining the printer or violating my warranty.
I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi Guys,
the cost saving is significant using 3rd party, you not need to burn ink like crazy to make the numbers work....
check the numbers here http://www.visualformix.com/index.php?cPath=40
the warranty, there are a few things to be said on this, based on what I know there is a ruling called “Product Linkage” is it prohibited by law to link the machine warranty with only exception is what is called the “ink system” that is dependant on the interpretation of the party providing the warranty.
based on that using 3rd party will not void your warranty, there is no commitment for you to use only that, however I strongly recommend to check with the warranty provider.
on another note, you since there are a lot of fully compatible and interchangeable 3rd party, you can always put the original ink cartridges before the service guy show up...
Real simple everyone, "USE OEM INK" in your Roland. I don't care what any ink rep tells you, don't use third party inks! Once your heads clog, any savings you thought you had, will be GONE! Don't do it.. I tried ONCE after a sales rep bugged me until I tried and that is what happened. CLOGGED HEAD.. DON'T DO IT.. Is that clear enough?
there are many 3rd parts eco solvent ink quality is good as the original ink.
and the price is 1/3.
all of our custormers stop the original ink when the printer warranty period was finished.

Unless you're going through ink like crazy I would just stick with Roland's offering. Today's third party inks are suppose to play nice with all printers -- and supposedly can be even better than the originals -- but why take the chance unless your cost savings are going to be more than any service call to fix your machine.
