Encad Problems

Anyone with Encad Printing Problems - I may be able to Help You.

The biggest problem the Wide Format Imaging Industry has is Customer Service.
Everyone buys on price only and expects to be an expert the minute they turn on the machine. The other problem is that there are alot of dealers out there that have never run a production print job in their life. They simply do not know what they are doing.

I have spent 13 years becoming an expert on the Encad printers. Most have
been PC and RIP failures. There are simple techniques you must know to make
any inkjet printer work well.

I have performed out of warranty repairs on nearly every Encad model. After
working on massive mainframe computer systems for 20 years, I can assure you
that there is alot of very good engineering in the Encad products.

Service is the issue. Kodak performs the service for Encad. Before that, it was IBM. They are board swappers, not field engineers. Every printer, ENCAD, HP, Cannon, Mumaki, Roland, etc all have one thing in common. They have few people in the
field that can actually intgrate a full system with the PC, Software, RIP and Printer.

Maybe I can Help.

This has only happened today. We were printing all day yesterday with no problems. We run a print server on the Novajet directly connected to ethernet on the pc

John,

There are several things that you can look at but it would take too long for
me to type out all the things you need to look at.

Give me a call at my office, and I will help you with this problem.

Thanks

Greetings Dale, et.al.

I have an Encad Novajet 880 that is just utterly frustrating. The cartridges... FAIL. I get new cartridges... and after about 5ml of throughput... THEY fail. I'm talking... $1500 worth of cartridges failing here....

Needless to say, I'm about ready to just scrap the thing.

Any help... would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

Mr. Bone(head),,, the original post is from 2005. While you may or may not know Endcad/Kodac does not support the 880 anymore. Never was a good buy in my opinion. Anyway you likely can't get cartridges that haven't exceeded thier shelf life. At least I doubt that you can. I know of one guy in Eastern PA that may be able to help, but honestly I think he would just refer you to someone local.

If I were you I would try a company that I trust and know is top notch. They'll tell it to you like it is....
