Hi,
I would like to request information about the performance of the ColorSpan DisplayMaker 72UVX and DisplayMaker 72UVR. I am interested in one of these two printers, but I have not seen them running. Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks,

We've had our 72UVR for a few months now. Overall we are very happy with its performace. It can print down to 2pt fonts clearly when run in its highest quality mode. To date we have had two problems with it. The air up here in Montana is VERY dry so we have static electricity problems with certain materials, especially when we print onto gator board. The static would cause the printer to fail. Anti-static spray like people use on their clothes fixes that problem. Due to the cold we also had an issue with the main drive belt slipping and causing a printer head failure when first starting up in the morning. We raised the temp in our shop and had colorspan switch out to a different drive shaft and it solved the problem. Both of these would not be an issue in a warmer, more humid environment.

We have been using the 72UVR for the last 6mo. It has been very reliable. I was concerned initially with the 1/4" thickness restriction on rigid materials, but now that the UVX is out I don't think I would pay the extra cash. It works well with our mix of work
Best wishes
