Sign guild??

Does anyone know of any sign guilds? I've heard that craft guilds can be of great help to artisons, offering scholarships, trade shows, a news letter, etc. I am currently working full time as well as trying to get my sign and custom lighting company going, and I could really use some help in the marketing department.

Any info would be of great help,

Speaking of shows there is a Huge one coming up March 1, through April 2 in Las Vegas. Your membership in ISA gets you a discount to get in the show, seminars, etc. I went 2 years ago and the show had everything from billboards, (they had 3 set up in the convention hall) all the way down to the smallest items you would need in a sign shop. I took a full load of workshops and seminars last time. I believe that this would be of a great help to you. And....subscribe to 1 or 2 trade magazines, this will get the creative juices going with each issue. Stan

There is a new website I just joined called signmakersguild.com. It seems like a nice place. I talked briefly with the webmaster and I wound up being a beta tester. It opens on Dec 1 but he said anyone can join now but he asks for feedback and suggestions.

I suggested a tracing and vectorizing forum and it was up the next day. Looks like it will be a good one. stan@ Sonrise signs wrote:

Hi Chris,
As I mentioned to kaleem in a message I left him about five minutes ago, you should check out Vista System. They are a manufacturer of a curved modular way-finding system. They will help you get started in the way-finding portion of your new business and will even provide you with catalogs barring your contact info., project leads and much more for close to nothing. They can really give you a leg up.
Try them at www.vistasystem.com

Hope this is helpful :)
