GREENSBURG - At a time when most are thinking about lighting up the town for the holidays, the Art on the Square Art Gallery is looking to "Light Up The Gallery." The Art Gallery, located on the north side of the courthouse square, is looking to install new lighting to better showcase the works on display there. Thanks in part to a significant contribution by Shawn Green of Green Signs, the Gallery has raised more than half of the needed funds. Mr. Green took part in the annual Painting the Town plein air paint out this summer that was sponsored by the Arts & Cultural Council of Decatur County. During the day he completed 3 works of art that depicted scenes of Greensburg. Two large paintings of the tree tower were on display in the front window of the gallery and both have since sold. Mr. Green contributed the proceeds from the sale of one of the two large paintings to the "Light Up the Gallery" fund. When asked what prompted him to make such a contribution to the gallery he stated, "Art should never be forgotten."
