ZeroNine (Woodstock, IL) is announcing Digitel™ electroluminescent (EL) thermal-transfer film, designed for use with Gerber’s EDGE® printer and a thermal laminator. The company sells the media in kits that comprise the substrate, a conductive ribbon designed for the Edge, wiring the plugs into a wall outlet, and ZeroNine’s recommended, thermal laminate. Because the media uses conductive tapes and adhesives for connections, no soldering is necessary. Digitel consumes little energy (it only consumes power when turned on), and will run for months on batteries, the company reports. Also, the thin EL media conforms to sleeves or narrow grooves; may be die-cut to fit almost any size; and, the film may be designed and printed for animated applications. ZeroNine also offers overlay colors and a Digitel color chart.
