The United States Sig Council (USSC) awarded William Yorston, of Yorston & Associates (Hellertown, PA) its Distinguished Service Award at the 2009 SignWorld USA. He became the 18th recipient.
Established in 1992, the USSC Distinguished Service Award honors an individual from the product manufacturer, distributor, manufacturer’s representative or service-support categories of membership who, by his or her outstanding service to the organization, has shown extraordinary support of the work of USSC. The USSC recognizes that, without their support, it would be difficult to provide the many member services it offers.
Yorston graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a degree in architecture. He’s been active in the sign industry for more than three decades, beginning his career as a sales associate with Wrisco Industries in Linden, NJ.
In 1986, he established Yorston & Associates, a prestigious manufacturer’s representative firm that serves the sign industry. Yorston has retained many clients since the beginning of their relationships. He has served two terms on the USSC Board of Directors, as well as terms on the boards of the New Jersey and Delaware Valley Sign associations.
