Company offers PSA, blockout, PVC-free media
Sihl (Chesapeake, VA) is introducing three new, inkjet media:
• Tornado™ 3175 pressure-sensitive adhesive vinyl, a 3.5-mil media designed for pigmented inks in aqueous printers. The calendered film comprises a 6-mil, lay-flat release liner and a matte-finish, outdoor durable coating. The company offers the film in 40-ft. lengths and 24-, 36-, 42-, 50- and 60-in. widths.
• 3198 instant dry, solvent block-out film that’s designed for full- and eco-solvent inks. The media comprises a 7-mil, white, polyester film backed with a gray, blockout layer that reportedly won’t split, buckle or warp. According to the company, the blockout layer eliminates washout caused by poor lighting conditions. Suitable applications include roll-up displays and POP;
• And 3488, a PVC-free, scrim banner material that comprises a polypropylene film fused to a polyester scrim based that may be disposed without harmful residue, the company reports. The gray backing enhances opacity and eliminates washout. The matte-finish material may be cut with wind slits, and lasts outdoors with pigmented inks for three months, according to Sihl.
