Rainier Industries (Tukwila, WA), a producer of large-format, soft-sided signage and architectural graphics, is presenting powdercoating and waterjet-cutting services. An alternative to paint, powderocating protects against rust and corrosion, and provides a smooth, consistent appearance. The process entails cleaning the material in a large washing booth before shifting the substrate to an oven where up to 2.1 million BTUs of heat eliminate moisture and ensure an even coating before it bakes at 400° F.
The waterjet-cutting process implements a Flow Mach 4 system, which employs a 94,000 psi pump and Flownest nesting program that enhances cutting accuracy. The jet cuts glass and thin-gauge metal, among other materials, within a 13 ft. 1 in. x 6 ft. 6 in. frame.
