Quality Sign Co. (Jacksonville, FL), a national sign engineering and manufacturing company, will create signage for all of 7-Eleven Inc.’s new stores across the country. Quality Sign will provide exterior, double-faced pylon signs and wall signage, all lit exclusively with GE’s LED technology, to save between 60 to 80% of energy. The signs will also feature low, volatile organic compound (VOC) paint
Quality Sign reports it’s the only U.S. sign manufacturer currently creating double-faced, LED-illuminated pylon signs using new lighting technology from GE. The company also is one of a few to offer LED technology in all of its products. Through lean manufacturing practices, which includes one-piece flow manufacturing and organized workspaces, the sign company has increased capacity, reduced delivery time by more than one-third and improved environmental efficiency through waste reduction.

Unfortunate for 7-eleven, their annual money savings will never be made versus their initial investment for their signs, they will most likely spend 10x the money and it will take 20+ years just to make that up. Get ready for many more retrofits during that time.
