PolyBrite Intl. Inc. (Naperville, IL), a manufacturer and creator of environmentally sustainable Borealis LED lamps and lighting systems, participated in the Business Fly-in, a delegation of business leaders who met with congressional members in Washington, DC, to discuss and emphasize the importance of strong, carbon-emission limits. The delegation stressed the urgent need for comprehensive climate and clean-energy legislation to restore the U.S.’s technological edge.
“The role of energy efficiency in reducing our dependence on foreign oil cannot be underestimated, and if we can accomplish this with clean energy, then we’ve hit a home run.” said Carl Scianna, Polybrite’s president and CEO. “A clear example of this lies in our country’s decision to ban incandescent lights by 2012, which has obviously accelerated the development of LED-lighting systems, itself an outcome of American innovation. Our government’s leadership is critical at this juncture in ensuring that we win the race to migrate this LED technology to full commercialization, leading to the revitalization of the manufacturing sector.”
