Kernow Coatings (Cornwall, England), which sells its materials in the U.S. exclusively through Continental Grafix USA (Charlotte, NC), is offering five backlit substrates for solvent and UV-curable inks. Curl-free, anti-static offerings include 164SMB and 215 SMB 6.5- or 8.5-mil, matte-finish material; 201SGB 8-mil, glossy media; and two Taklite products – which reportedly offer better adhesion than static-cling material – 161SMBT, 6mil, matte-finish material and 151SMGT, a 5-mil, glossy media. Continental recommends Taklite for use with glass, acrylic and smoothly finished wood.
