A Cincinnati pub lets a wrapped Rover say, "Cheers!"
By Steve Aust
Cincinnati gleans its name from Cincinnatus, a populist Roman consul who lived during the 5th Century B.C. and briefly served as dictator before returning to his humble farming life. During the 19th Century, a massive influx of German immigrants triggered the creation of numerous sausage manufacturers, which begat the city’s nickname, “Porkopolis.”
Despite Cincinnati’s cultural underpinnings, patrons readily opened their hearts (and stomachs) to the Pub, an eatery that proffers authentic British food, located at the tony Rookwood Commons lifestyle center. The Pub’s parent company, the Tavern Restaurant Group, wisely hired Cincinnati-based Advertising Vehicles to provide a vehicle wrap – an effective, economical advertising solution – to be parked outside its front doors.
Kate McGuire designed the Union Jack-clad wrap using Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®, and the shop output her handiwork its HP Scitex TJ8300 printer using 3M™’s Controltac™ IJ 180-10C repositionable-adhesive film with Comply™ air-egress technology and 8519 luster-finish overlaminate. Advertising Vehicles’ Jeffery Gamble installed the wrap with 3M squeegees and X-Acto® knives.
