Software written by former sign-company owner
EstiMate’s (Enka, NC) eponymous sign-business software was written by Mark Smith, a signshop owner who struggled with pricing his work, in 1999. The software, which can be downloaded, is designed to help sign companies create accurate, customer-ready estimates within minutes of inputting specifications, the company says. The software allows users to input an hourly rate and material costs. It then creates both customer estimates and “hard-numbers” reports, which detail material mark-ups, labor and overhead charges, and price adjustments.
