EFI™ (Foster City, CA) has released its xf 4.1 color-management system for commercial sign display, packaging and remote proofing work. The software offers comprehensive cutting-engine support, enhanced RGB workflow and color handling, support for newest industry standards, extended printer support, seamless integration to EFI’s web-control center and more. It also seamlessly integrates with EFI Web Control Center, that is, EFI's web-based application for remote control and distribution of print jobs.
EFI said the features have been added to all EFI XF products: EFI Fiery XF for large- to superwide-format production printing; Fiery® XF for Rastek™, VUTEk® and Jetrion®, as well as EFI Colorproof™ XF.
The software can generate cut marks for single jobs, plus nesting and step-and-repeat actions. It also allows you to scale, rotate and crop jobs. A Cut Server option can drive up to eight cutting engines simultaneously, and a new Print and Cut option increases productivity by enabling one-step printing and cutting, or, alternatively, cutting only, on print-and-cut printers.
It also improves spot-color overprint simulation for spot colors on process colors, and spot colors on other spot colors, and a Dynamic Wedge system provides an out-of-gamut warning for spot colors compared against a media profile.
