The Rho 1000, the Rho 800 HS and the Rho 500 R grab headlines
Durst has announced three new printers, the Rho 1000, which features a continuous-feed, inkjet system; the Durst Rho 800 HS, a high-speed, UV-cure, flatbed printer; and the Durst Rho 500R, a six-color, 16.4 ft. wide, roll-to-roll, UV-cure inkjet printer that outputs 600 dpi prints at 1,312 sq. ft./hr.
The Durst Rho 1000
The new Rho 1000, now Durst’s top model, features enhanced Quadro Array printhead technology and Durst’s efficient, workflow configuration which can assimilate into existing screen and offset manufacturing processes. Durst guarantees maximum output of up to 600, 4 x 2.6 ft. boards per hour, 24/7. The Rho 1000 also prints on sheets, boards and roll media. The company says the Rho 1000 can simultaneously image onto various media. It requires minimum set-up time, no masking and can be loaded and unloaded with screenprint methods and systems. It also features fast cleaning, with extended cleaning and maintenance intervals. The company will provide in-house technical training.
The Durst Rho 800 HS flatbed
Durst also introduces its Rho 800 HS, a high-speed version of the Durst Rho 800 continuous (uninterrupted printing), UV-cure, flatbed printer. Because of its Quadro Array technology improvements (the Rho 800 HS comprises double the number of inkjet nozzles, to 2,048 nozzles per color) and new workflow features, it surpasses the previous version’s production by 80%. Durst says the Rho 800 HS will image on various media; it will produce up to 216, 4 x 2,6 ft. boards per hour. It will also print light colors without loss of speed. The Rho 800 HS includes a continuous, board-feeding mechanism and mechanical front stops, to assist parallel printing; it prints up to 8 ft. wide, by any length. Durst designed the Rho 800 HS operate 24/7.
The Durst Rho 500R
The Durst Rho 500R is a 600-dpi, six-color, 16.4-ft.-wide, roll-to-roll, UV-cure inkjet printer that images up to1,312 sq. ft./hr. Durst designed the 500R for printing onto various media, including, vinyl banners and façade-cladding mesh. The printer’s speed results from improved mechanical engineering and Durst Quadro 30D Array technology enhancements. Built-in sensors and a media transport system allow for problem-free unattended printing. Winding rollers and pairs of tension rollers power its Push-Media advancement technology and the system’s sag-free, segmented, aluminum-alloy shaft is laser technology incremented. The Rho 500R can print three, adjacent, 63-in.-wide rolls of varying media (textile for banners or self-adhesive polyester film, for example). It features a high-precision carriage system, linear, motor-drive technology and 2,048 printhead nozzles per color. The Quadro 30D Array printheads feature nozzle-regulated ink temperature and Point Drop settings. Its intelligent, dither technology reduces production costs and ink consumption. Further, the printer applies VOC-free, UV-cure Rho Roll Ink, which has received Nordic Swan certification.
