Valo OT digital billboard entertains and informs patrons of the Birmingham, AL sports, convention and entertainment facility.
Daktronics Inc. (Brookings, SD) has installed its Valo® OT (Optimized Technology) LED digital billboard at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) in Birmingham, Ala. The displays, which are positioned near Interstate 59-20 in downtown Birmingham, replace a previous Daktronics marquee display installed in 1997. Daktronics also provided the current video and scoring system inside the BJCC arena..
The 35 x 10-ft., two-sided Valo® digital board, with 12mm-pixel spacing, will entertain and inform patrons outside the BJCC.
“On a rotating basis, the sign will be updated weekly to promote dozens of events held annually at the BJCC,” said Susette Hunter, the BJCC’s marketing director. A study estimates 170,000 vehicles pass by the sign daily.
In addition to providing a flexible advertising medium, these digital billboards facilitate Amber Alerts, weather alerts and law-enforcement alerts. This product focuses on the most important needs of the client, the outdoor companies, municipalities and consumers.
The BJCC sports, convention and entertainment complex comprises a 19,000-seat arena, a 3,000-seat concert hall a 220,000-sq.-ft. exhibit hall, a 1,000-seat theater, and banquet and meeting rooms.
