South Bend, IN digital billboard posts a "pubic" mistake.
A digital billboard in South Bend, IN corrected an embarrassing spelling error, but not before passersby noticed the goof. The message, which proved the necessity of good proofreading skills, went up on Thursday and was pulled Monday morning.
The message on the billboard, near the intersection of State Road 23 and Ironwood, said to check out the "15 best things about our pubic schools."
The president of the Blue Waters Group, which calls itself “a highly specialized firm [“We go deep”] serving the communication needs of research-based organizations, universities and companies that are driving the knowledge economy of the 21st Century,” told local station WSBT-TV the mistake wasn’t made by the city or schools. He said four people proofed the ad, but still missed the typo. Anyone who’s ever worked in the media understands their embarrassment (and hopes it never happens again to him or her).
